• Payment Method — the UPI app or payment method used (e.g., GPay, PhonePe).
• UPI Transaction Reference — optional, if provided during payment confirmation.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Google Account Information — if you sign in via Google OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.
• Session Data — stored in your browser's localStorage for authentication purposes only. No server-side session cookies are used.
• Payment Gateway Data — if you pay via PayU, PayU collects and shares transaction details (transaction ID, status, amount) with us as per PayU's privacy policy.

1.3 Volunteer Information

If you sign up as a volunteer, we additionally collect your availability, preferred tasks, and check-in status for event coordination purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To record and verify your contribution to the Chhath Puja 2026 fund.
• To display your name (with consent) on the public contributors list.
• To send you a WhatsApp receipt and event updates if you have opted in.
• To manage volunteer assignments during the event.
• To maintain financial transparency records for the community.
• To authenticate you when you access gated pages on this Site.
• To process online payments through PayU payment gateway.

We do not use your information for marketing, advertising, or any commercial purpose.

3. Data Storage

All contribution and profile data is stored in a Google Sheets spreadsheet accessible only to authorised committee members. This data is hosted on Google's servers and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Payment transaction data processed through PayU is stored on PayU's secure servers as per PayU's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to any third party. Your data may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:

• Committee Members — authorised PSOTS Chhath Puja committee members can view contribution and volunteer data for event management.
• Payment Gateway (PayU) — necessary payment information (name, email, phone, amount) is shared with PayU to process online payments.
• Legal Requirements — if required by law or to protect the rights of the community.

5. Payment Security

Online payments are processed through PayU, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. We do not store any card numbers, CVV, or bank account details on our servers. All payment transactions are encrypted using SSL/TLS.

6. Your Rights

As a PSOTS resident, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request removal of your name from the public contributors list.
• Opt out of WhatsApp updates at any time via the Subscribe page.
