Refund & Cancellation Policy
PSOTS Chhath Puja 2026 · chhath.psots.in
All contributions made through this Site are voluntary community donations towards PSOTS Chhath Puja 2026. Refund requests are considered on a case-by-case basis at the sole discretion of the PSOTS Chhath Puja Committee.
1. General Policy
Contributions collected through this Site are used exclusively for the organisation and conduct of PSOTS Chhath Puja 2026. Since funds are committed to event planning and vendor bookings well in advance, refunds are generally not guaranteed. However, we understand that genuine circumstances may arise, and we are committed to reviewing such requests fairly and transparently.
2. Eligibility for Refund
A refund request may be considered in the following circumstances:
- Duplicate Payment — The same contribution was charged more than once due to a technical error or payment gateway issue.
- Payment Failure with Deduction — Your bank account was debited but the payment was not recorded as successful on our platform.
- Incorrect Amount — A technical error resulted in an amount being charged that is significantly different from what you intended.
- Event Cancellation — In the unlikely event that the Chhath Puja 2026 celebration is cancelled in its entirety, proportional refunds will be processed after deducting any committed expenses.
3. Refund Decision Authority
The decision to approve or reject a refund request rests solely with the PSOTS Chhath Puja Committee. The committee will evaluate each request based on:
- The reason provided for the refund request.
- Payment transaction records and verification status.
- The stage of event planning and fund utilisation at the time of request.
- Overall fairness to the contributing community.
The committee's decision shall be final and binding. We endeavour to communicate the decision within 7 working days of receiving a valid request.
4. Non-Refundable Circumstances
Refund requests will not be considered in the following cases:
- Change of mind after a successful voluntary contribution.
- Contributions made more than 30 days prior to the refund request (unless due to a technical error).
- Contributions already acknowledged, receipted, and recorded in the public contributors list.
- Requests made after the commencement of the Chhath Puja event (1st November 2026).

6. Online Payment Gateway Refunds
For payments made through PayU:
- If a technical error occurs (e.g., payment debited but order failed), the refund is typically initiated automatically by PayU within 5–7 working days.

- PayU's refund processing timeline applies and may vary based on the bank or payment method used.
